Stance: Against TPP

The US have left (in good time!), why not renegotiating the pact to give everyone a better deal? If they want to keep pushing for the TPP, why not at least reconsidering whatever they had been imposed on, now that the bad guys are gone?

Stance: Against TPP

“A June 2015 New York Times poll found that 78 percent of Americans said they had heard or read “not much” or “nothing at all” about the TPP.” If news do not appear on the media, did the fact happen? Why are we kept on the dark? Evidently it’s not good for people, so then you’d rather keep them ignorant of the matter.

Stance: Against TPP

This idea of a high income nation is just propaganda, it’s just a chimera. And the idea that TPPA will enable this to happen is just nonsense. We can see from studying the present situation in the USA itself that the standard of living of ordinary people there has been dropping and more and more wealth is being concentrated in the hands of the few. As members of the TPPA, we in Malaysi more...

Stance: Against TPP

Check out what MITI’s Minister Mustapa said will happen after TPP gets implemented: “We feel that at the moment, there is too much freedom on social media and there is a need to review this with the hope of controlling it. We decided to study the matter and may impose control to prevent undesirable elements on social media.” Forget about criticizing the government in your facebook. TP more...

Stance: Against TPP

It seems Mustapa doesn’t know that Malaysia already has signed free trade agreements with most of the countries from the TPPA… It only doesn’t have with Peru, Mexico, Canada and the US. Peru and Mexico are rather small markets, not much to worry about. The US is imposing all its conditions on the FTA, actually delivering its own FTA template from which to start negotiating. Yo more...

Stance: Against TPP

Is Mustapa serious? Because “the people are getting smarter and knowledgeable” then corporations will not be able to sue the country thus effectively losing its sovereignty? Why is he treating us like 3-year olds? Maybe that’s why he goes to talk to students? He keeps on dismissing the concerns about TPP, which are quite valid, and keeps dumbing it all down to it is a “win-win”. F more...

Stance: Against TPP

As the student said: “Most of us already know about the advantages of the TPPA, but not its disadvantages.” And he is right when he suggested the government should explain each of the chapters specifically, rather than deliver a generic one. But don’t expect MITI to give space to critics of TPP, since they have nothing to say about ISDS or the increase of costs in medicine. Th more...

Stance: Against TPP

I don’t trust they will do a good job in explaining, they did a horrible job in MITI few days ago: http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/321733. It’s all about the impression they give in the media, as when they claim “There are less objections towards the TPPA now”. I want to see proof of that. Until then, it’s all empty blah blah blah
